Creating an elevated dining and lounge experience for VIP guests during sporting events and concerts at Rocket Arena required a space that could offer both energy and refinement within the dynamic environment of a major venue. Designed as a retreat for members and VIP clientele to relax, socialize, and dine before or during events, the lounge needed to deliver a high-end hospitality experience while operating seamlessly within the constraints of the arena. One of the primary challenges stemmed from its ground-level location, where traditional kitchen ventilation to open air was difficult to achieve and maintaining a comfortable working environment for staff was essential. To address this, the design team implemented a ventless recirculating kitchen system using equipment from Halton, specifically the RECO hood system, which allowed the kitchen to operate efficiently without requiring direct exterior exhaust. By carefully coordinating equipment selection and collaborating closely with other trades, the team created a kitchen environment that remained properly ventilated and comfortable for staff while supporting the elevated dining experience expected by VIP guests.
